About the Project:
The Valuing Nature project promotes a stronger connection with nature in early childhood education through nature-based learning and play. The project integrates practical experience with research and dissemination, ensuring that nature-based education becomes a visible and valued part of everyday preschool practice.
Preschool teachers from Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania, together with a professional NGO in early childhood education, collaborate to develop and implement outdoor learning methods. Teachers engage in job shadowing, workshops, and transnational visits to exchange best practices and observe different approaches to nature-based pedagogy.
A comparative scientific study examines how such methods influence children's well-being, development, and environmental awareness. Findings will be shared at an international conference and through a peer-reviewed publication.
Project activities align with preschool curricula and involve children aged 3 to 7, their families, and educational staff. Institutions create teaching resources, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen professional networks among preschool educators in the Baltic region.
